Romney’s Calumny

I’ve been trying to keep politics out of The Fake Angeleno, but this is unbelievable.  From Mitt Romney’s exit speech today:

"If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would
forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely
that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I
simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to
terror."

So a Democrat in the Whitehouse = an Al Qaeda overrun of the homeland? Sorry fellas.  That line of reasoning worked well in 2002 and 2004, but — in case you missed the midterm elections in ’06 — it doesn’t work any longer.

Says TPM’s Greg Sargent: "I guess Mitt’s determined to exit this thing with his now-cosmic levels of ignominy completely undiminished."
