Despite following the general sweep of Route 66 from St. Louis to Los Angeles during our cross country move last month, we managed to miss most of the kitschy attractions on offer. (We were, after all, in a giant moving van and on a schedule.)
Fortunately, some folks have time to stop and smell the roadside… The L.A. bloggers at Franklin Avenue just got back from an Oklahoma trip, where they ran across POPS: "an unusual restaurant/convenience store/soda farm/gas station hybrid."
Now that I think about it, I do remember seeing a 66-foot soda bottle looming from the highway near Arcadia, Oklahoma. Franklin Avenue has pictures of POPS in all its glory, if you’re at all curious.
