I particularly enjoyed this coupling of posters from the Jane Jacobs and the Future of New York exhibit at the Municipal Art Society, as it captured my apartment hunting mood of last month perfectly. If you have time between now and Mid January, I highly suggest stopping by the MAS. It’s located on Madison between 51st and 52nd.
P.S. The MAS is a fine organization, but its "nasty newsracks competition" is way out of line. One of those newsracks, the orange one in fact, contains the finest free cultural guide in the city. Those newsracks are a time-honored part of the city, and while sometimes unsightly and dirty, they promote free speech, literally. The plans to remove them reek of a big business giveaway, too. Matt Taibbi has more on the sinister politics of the war on New York newsracks here.
